Door #7 – Toledo, Spain – Daily Photo

Rounding out a week’s worth of pictures of doors is this door from Toledo, the former capital of Spain. I found this on one of the back streets by just trying to get lost wandering around the twisty little back streets of that city. I like the contrast between the armored right side of the [...]

Datajack – Unlimited Mobile Internet $39.99, No Contract

I just got this letter today from Rick:
in your last episode of This Week in Travel you spoke about MiFi (verizon) and WiMax (clear.com) and others.
For me, MiFi is too slow, and wimax does not have good coverage in my areas. And specially the data plans are a deal breaker for me.
So, for the above [...]

Door #6 – Doors to No Where – Santorini, Greece – Daily Photo

Two things draw me to photos like this one. The first is the color. Ansel Adams I am not. I love vibrant color. The second is the odd asymmetry of this picture. Symmetry can certainly be beautiful, but as Mona Lisa taught us, asymmetry is intriguing.

Door #3 – Oaxaca , Mexico – Daily Photo

Continuing my series of photos of doors that I have collected is this odd pyramid shaped door from Oaxaca. I am particularly drawn to buildings like this that have seen better days. They seem to tell a story. My suspicion is that this building has this pyramid theme because it was built by the Freemasons [...]
