Travel bloggers around the globe today are posting about Passports With Purpose. We are getting together to build a school in Cambodia this year. If you have been a listener to the Amateur Traveler or a reader here at the blog then you probably have some idea how pleased I am to be involved in a project like this that leaves the world a little better off.

The way that Passports With Purpose works is that travel bloggers and sponsors have gathered together a series of prizes. As you contribute to the project of building a school you are also entering to win a prize.

I am trying something different this year and donating a personal walking tour of one of my favorite cities – San Francisco. The walking tour will be for up to 4 people and I will spring for lunch. It can be customized for your group but I had in mind:

  • Union Square
  • Chinatown
  • North Beach
  • Pier 39
  • Lombard Street
  • Fisherman’s Wharf

The tour I have in mind will involved hiking some hills so you will need to be in good shape. If you would prefer a custom driving tour of the city can be substituted. The tour would need to be scheduled for some time in 2010. The value that I am putting on this trip is $100.

It is also not too late for you to donate a prize.

Check out our full list of prizes and choose the ones you would like to enter to win.

That’s an awesome prize. Can it be redeemed whenever? Like say when someone comes to the city next year.
