On a trip to Sydney, Australia we saw this sign with arrows pointing to famous world cities with the various distances. My kids loved it so they posed for this picture. I used this picture in both my daughter’s and son’s ad in their senior yearbook. It seemed like a pretty good way to describe them at the crossroads of their life.

There’s something centering about this – we should all have such a sign at our homes. Great idea to use it as a yearbook pic, too.

We have the same thing in New Zealand, signs that point to big international cities. I always wondered if they made the directions up or if they are in fact accurate.

In this case it was obvious that they were not accurate. Note that it is 5 double ended signs. There is no way Moscow and London are in the exact opposite direction from Sydney.

Interpretive travel art! I wonder which cities would top their list?

I love sign post. It’s fun to see how far we are from certain cities at that spot. Neat!

It’s great that your kids still want to travel with you, my eldest will only come now if it involves ski-ing at our expense.
